
9U/Tadpole Division
For both boys and girls aged 8 & 9 years old. (born 2017 & 2018)
Our 9U/Tadpole Division plays at Moody Park in New Westminster.
Spring Season
The Spring Season runs from early April to late June.
You can expect 2-3 events per week. (combination of practices & games)
An arm style pitching machine is used throughout the season with an introduction to live pitching for second year players half way through the season. Games are a maximum of 6 innings or 2 hours (no new inning after 1 hr 45 mins). Players will continue to develop their primary baseball skills such as hitting, base running, fielding, and throwing, with a concentration on having fun in a team environment.
Scores and standings are only recorded in tournaments. Umpires are also only used in tournaments.
- Base paths are set at 60 feet
- Pitchers throw from 42-46 feet
- games are 6 innings long (or max 2 hrs)
- Fair Play Rule 25 in effect

Required player equipment:
- Baseball glove
- athletic support cup (jock or jill)
- Baseball cleats (molded plastic/rubber)
- Baseball helmet, with chin strap
- Bat (optional – there will be team bats available)
- 9U: 30 inch max, 2 5/8 inch max diameter, unlimited length/weight drop – bats with greater than 2 ¼ in. barrel diameter must be marked “USABB” or stamped with BPF 1.15” (Bat Performance Factor)
- Baseball pants (grey)
- Jersey – loaned out by the program and to be returned at the end of the season
- Hat – provided by the program and yours to keep
