For both boys and girls aged 8 & 9 years old. (born 2017 & 2018)

Our 9U/Tadpole Division play at Moody Park, New West.

Spring Season

We offer 9U teams for the spring season. 9U player evaluations will take place in February/March which assists in creating balanced spring teams. The Spring Season runs from April to late June.

A pitching machine is used, with a maximum of 6 innings per game. For the second year players, live pitching will be used starting halfway through the season. Players will continue to develop their primary baseball skills such as hitting, base running, fielding, and throwing, with a concentration on having fun in a team environment.

Scores and standings are only recorded in tournaments. Umpires are also only used in tournaments.

Base paths are set at 60 feet
Pitchers throw from 42-46 feet
games are 6 innings long
Fair Play Rule 25 in effect
10U & 11U spring pitching limits:
- 1-25 Pitches = No Rest
- 26-40 Pitches = 2 Night Rest
- 41-55 Pitches = 3 Nights Rest
- 56-65 Pitches = 4 Nights Rest
- 66-75 Pitches = 5 Nights Rest

Required player equipment:

Baseball glove
athletic support cup (jock or jill)
Baseball cleats (molded plastic/rubber)
Baseball helmet, with strap
Bat (optional – there will be team bats available)
- 9U: 30 inch, 2 5/8 inch max diameter, unlimited length/weight drop – bats with greater than 2 ¼ in. barrel diameter must be marked “USABB” or stamped with BPF 1.15” (Bat Performance Factor)
Baseball pants (grey)
Jersey – loaned out by the program and to be returned at the end of the season
Hat – provided by the program and yours to keep
