
New West Minor Baseball Association (Diamondsides) is a non-profit, co-ed youth community baseball organization devoted to providing grassroots & competitive baseball programs for boys & girls aged 4-18 yrs old living in New Westminster and surrounding areas.
We are affiliated with BC Minor Baseball, Baseball BC, Baseball Canada and ViaSport.
New Westminster was one of the first cities in Canada to offer Little League Baseball in 1952 and was the birth place of the BC Minor Baseball Association in 1963. Over the years, youth baseball played in our city has been affiliated with; Little League BC, BC Minor Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, Baseball BC.
2022 was a return to BC Minor Baseball for New Westminster when the new ‘New West Minor Baseball Association | Diamondsides Baseball’ was established ran a single Spring/Summer 18UAA/Midget team. We expanded each year focusing on the teenaged divisions and are excited that in 2026 we will now be offering BC Minor Baseball for ages 4-18 yrs
Starting in Spring 2026 we will be offering the following baseball programs:
- New West Minor | Diamondsides – 5U, 7U, 9U, 11U divisions(*new for 2026)
- SB/NW River Giants – 13U, 15U, 18U divisions (New West & South Burnaby are merged for these divisions)
- Diamondsides – 19+ adult team (plays in the VRBL ‘Vancouver Recreational Baseball League’)
We stress commitment, teamwork, fair play, kindness & respect from our players, coaches, parents & fans.
Our teams play home games on baseball diamonds throughout New Westminster at Grimston Park, Ryall Park, Hume Park, Moody Park, Queens Park, (Bonsor Park, Ron McLean Park, Central Park for River Giants only) and away games throughout the lower mainland.
We are proud to call the iconic Queens Park stadium our Home Diamond for our 18U & 19+ teams. Built in 1939 it is a part of our rich baseball history. With stadium lighting for night games & covered seating for hundreds of fans makes it a great destination to come on out and cheer us on!


The New West Minor Baseball Association acknowledges that it is located on an unceded land, eternally cared for by Halkomelem speaking people and represented today by the Qayqayt First Nation.
